GeekWire Radio: Amazon’s drone setback, Russell Wilson’s Facebook payday, and a Q&A with Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the web

This week on the GeekWire radio show and podcast: The FAA deals Amazon’s drone ambitions a setback with its new rules for commercial operation of unmanned aerial vehicles. The rules limit flights to the visual line of sight of the operator, prohibit flights over people not involved in the drone operation, and mandate that no pilot can operate more than one drone at a time.

Although commercial operators can apply for exceptions, the rules as written are a blow to the Seattle-based e-commerce giant’s plans to deliver packages via drone in its home country. On this week’s show, we discuss what they might do next.
