The Metropolis of Seattle introduced recipients of its 2020 Expertise Matching Fund, an annual grant program supporting non-profit organizations that assist bridge the digital divide.
A complete of $345,000, which included a $25,000 contribution from the Verizon Basis, will go to fifteen teams across the Seattle area.
“The twin crises of COVID-19 and systemic racism in our area and our nation are bringing into sharp reduction the continued want for significant, intentional investments in our low-income communities and communities of coloration,” Mayor Jenny Durkan mentioned in an announcement. “An increasing number of, our communities are counting on entry to the web and digital literacy abilities to interact with their communities and make their voices heard. Greater than ever, it’s essential that we’re investing in digital fairness for all our communities.”
